The former Ginger Spice, pop singer Geri Halliwell, was born August 6, in London; a onetime topless model and Turkish game show hostess, in March of she answered an advertisement for an all-girl vocal group, and with fellow applicants Victoria Adams, Melanie Brown, and Melanie Chisholm formed the nucleus of what later (with the addition of fifth member Emma Bunton) became the Spice.

By the time she cut her debut solo album, Halliwell had realized that it was her spunk and character that made her a pop star -- and she explained away the rapid shift in image in the title, Schizophonic, which also is a description of the album's contents.8/

Schizophonic is Geri Halliwell's debut album that was released after leaving the Spice Girls.. The album title is a portmanteau of the Greek words schizo (meaning "split" or "divide") & phonic (meaning "sound") and is also seemingly a play on the word "schizophrenic" and the musical term "schizophonia"."Schizophonic" peaked at #4 on the UK Albums chart and was certified 2× Platinum .

Schizophonic (stylised as Schizö-phonic) is the debut studio album by pop singer Geri Halliwell. The album was released after her split from popular girl group the Spice Girls.

Look At Me wasn’t necessarily the best representation of the album, but it was one of those songs that had to happen at this point. It could only have been a lead single; such was the statement attached to it. It wasn’t necessarily an obvious way to pitch Geri Halliwell as a solo act; the song is a little bit pop, a little bit jazz and a whole lot theatrical.

Schizophonic is more Girl Chutzpah than Girl Power. Geri seems intent on being all spices: sweet, salty, flirty, bossy. "Mi Chico Latino" is her impeccably timed contribution to the Latin-pop phenom, complete with awkwardly pronounced Spanglish; "Let Me Love You" has .

Best Geri's album, full of hits, including Look at me, Lift me up, Mi chico latino and Bag it up. Every single track contains great melody and powerfull lyrics, from bittersweet ballads like Walkaway to up tempo tunes like Let me love you. A must hear song is You're in a bubble!/5(42).
